Kroger Weekly Ad Meal Plan: 7 Dinners (week of Oct 19)

Quick answer: The Kroger weekly ad runs Wednesday through Tuesday. To plan a week of dinners from it, load the digital coupons you need to your Shopper's Card, pick two or three proteins from the front page, add the produce on sale, and stretch each protein over two nights. The same method works at Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers and Harris Teeter, which belong to the same company. The sample week below feeds four people for about $53 at example prices.

When the Kroger ad starts

Kroger's weekly ad starts on Wednesday and ends the following Tuesday. In October 2026 every Kroger ad we checked followed that cycle, from Cincinnati to Atlanta to Dallas, and so did the ads for Ralphs, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter and Fry's.

Two things to know before you plan:

  • The ad is regional. Kroger publishes different ads for different areas, so prices for the same item can differ between states. Use the ad for your own store.
  • Skip the Home & Apparel ad. Kroger runs a separate two-week ad for non-food items. It has nothing for your dinner plan.

How Kroger digital coupons work

Some of the best prices need a digital coupon. Kroger's help pages describe it like this:

  1. Sign in on kroger.com or in the Kroger app and add your Shopper's Card to your account.
  2. Press Load to Card on each coupon you want. Coupons are ready to use as soon as they are loaded.
  3. At the register, scan your Shopper's Card or enter your Alt ID. The discount comes off and shows on your receipt.

Kroger also runs Weekly Digital Deals, which you load the same way. Do this at home while you plan, so you are not scrolling through coupons in the checkout line.

The Kroger family: same method, different names

Kroger lists a family of banners on its corporate site. Each has its own ad and app, so use the one for the store you shop at.

StoreRegion, as listed by KrogerThis week's ad
RalphsSouthern CaliforniaRalphs weekly ad
Fred MeyerPacific NorthwestFred Meyer weekly ad
King SoopersColoradoKing Soopers weekly ad
Harris TeeterSoutheastHarris Teeter weekly ad

Kroger also lists Smith's, Fry's, QFC, Dillons, Mariano's, Pick 'n Save, Metro Market and Baker's. Harris Teeter keeps its own loyalty program: the card is called the VIC card, and e-VIC members load digital coupons to it.

Turn the Kroger ad into seven dinners

  1. Pick two or three proteins from the front page. Chicken, ground beef and pork roasts are common anchors. Compare the price per pound.
  2. Give each protein two nights. Roast extra chicken for quesadillas, cook a double pot of chili, freeze what you cannot use in time.
  3. Add the produce on sale. Build sides and fillings around it.
  4. Fill the rest from the pantry. Pasta, rice, beans and eggs cover the cheap nights.
  5. Check coupons against your list. Load any digital coupon for an item you already planned to buy. Skip coupons that would add things to the list.

If you want the full step-by-step method, the guide to building a meal plan from the weekly ad covers it in detail.

Sample week from a typical Kroger ad

This week starts on Wednesday to match the ad. All costs are example prices for four people, including the produce and pantry items each dinner needs. Saturday's cost covers the whole pot of chili.

NightDinnerBuilt onExample cost for 4
WednesdayRoast chicken drumsticks with potatoes and green beansDrumsticks on sale$8.40
ThursdayChicken quesadillasLeftover chicken$5.20
FridayPork chops with roasted sweet potatoes and applesaucePork chops on sale$9.60
SaturdayBeef and bean chili, a big potGround beef on sale$10.80
SundayChili-topped baked potatoesLeftover chili$3.90
MondaySpaghetti with Italian sausage and peppersSausage on sale$9.30
TuesdayBreakfast for dinner with eggs, pancakes and fruitPantry$6.20

Total: $53.40, or about $1.91 per serving. The two leftover nights each use food cooked the day before. Keep leftovers in the fridge for 3 to 4 days at most, per USDA guidance, and freeze anything you will not eat in that window.

Raw ground beef and sausage keep only 1 to 2 days in the fridge, per USDA. If you shop on Wednesday, freeze both on the day you buy them and move each one to the fridge the night before you cook it.

If your Kroger ad looks different

Your ad will not match the sample week, and it does not need to. Keep the structure and swap the parts:

  • Chicken breasts instead of drumsticks: roast them on Wednesday and slice the extra for Thursday.
  • Pork shoulder instead of chops: slow-cook it on the weekend and use the rest in tacos.
  • No beef deal: make the chili with ground turkey, or with an extra can of beans and no meat.
  • Fish on sale: cook it on the day you shop.

A few Kroger habits that save money

  • Compare the store brand with the sale brand. A name brand on sale can still cost more than the Kroger brand at its regular price.
  • Buy family packs when the price per pound drops. Freeze half in dinner-size bags right after you get home.
  • Plan on Tuesday evening. The new ad starts Wednesday, and by Tuesday you know what is left in your fridge from last week.
  • Look at a second store only for big items. If an ALDI or Walmart is on your way, compare their ads for meat. The weekly ad overview shows them side by side.

Plan the Kroger week with Flyva

Frequently asked questions

When does the Kroger weekly ad start?

The Kroger weekly ad runs from Wednesday through the following Tuesday. In October 2026 every Kroger ad we checked followed that cycle, from Cincinnati to Dallas, and so did the ads for Ralphs, King Soopers, Fred Meyer and Harris Teeter. Some promotions run longer, so check the dates printed on the ad for your store.

How do Kroger digital coupons work?

Sign in on kroger.com or in the Kroger app, add your Shopper's Card to your account, and press Load to Card on each coupon you want. At the register you scan the card or enter your Alt ID, and the discount comes off automatically. Load coupons at home while you plan, not in the checkout line.

Which stores belong to Kroger?

Kroger lists Ralphs, Smith's, Fry's, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, King Soopers, QFC, Dillons, Mariano's, Pick 'n Save, Metro Market and Baker's among its family of banners. Each one has its own weekly ad and app, so plan with the ad for the store you actually shop at, not the Kroger ad from another state.

Is the Kroger weekly ad the same everywhere?

No. Kroger publishes different ads for different regions, so the same item can have a different sale price in Ohio and in Texas. That is why Flyva asks for your ZIP code when you add a Kroger store. Always plan with the ad that matches the store you shop at.

How does Harris Teeter fit in?

Harris Teeter belongs to Kroger but keeps its own loyalty program. Its card is the VIC card, and e-VIC members can load digital coupons to it. Its weekly ad also ran Wednesday through Tuesday in October 2026. The planning method is the same: proteins first, then produce, then fill the gaps from your pantry.
